Connect Power BI Service to SingleStore via Power BI Gateway

To connect Power BI service to SingleStore DB via Power BI gateway:

  1. Download and install the SingleStore Power BI Bundle. By default, the SingleStore connector files are located in the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Power BI Desktop\Custom Connectors folder.

  2. Download and install the Power BI on-premises data gateway. For more information, see What is an on-premises data gateway.

  3. In the gateway installer, sign in to Microsoft Office 365 with your organization email address to register your gateway.

  4. Select Register a new gateway on this computer > Next.

  5. In the On-premises data gateway dialog, enter a name for the gateway (for example, SingleStore). Create and confirm a recovery key. Select Configure. The on-premises data gateway is ready to use. If you face connection issues, see Troubleshoot gateways.

  6. Select Connectors. Select the folder where the gateway can find the SingleStore Power BI connector. By default, the files are located in the folder specified in Step 1. The SingleStore connector is ready to use.

    Note

The NT SERVICE\PBIEgwService user account needs access to the selected folder. You can modify the permissions under folder Properties > Security. If the NT SERVICE\PBIEgwService user does not exist, add the user.

    Note

The user running the gateway service must have access to the SingleStore connector files.

  7. In Power BI, select Workspaces > Create a workspace. In the created workspace, select Settings > Manage gateways.
