The SingleStore 9.1 release candidate (RC) is available now. It will be promoted to general availability (GA) soon and at that time it will be renamed to SingleStore 10.

In the interim, SingleStore 9.1 RC can be used to preview, evaluate, and provide feedback on the new and upcoming features in SingleStore 10, while SingleStore 9.0 is recommended for production workloads.

Create a Database

After deploying your cluster, you are ready to create a database. When creating tables in your database, you can choose between columnstore and rowstore tables, depending on whether your workload is analytical or transactional.

This guide explains how to create a database using the CREATE DATABASE command. After you have set up your database, navigate to the Choosing a Table Storage Type topic for more information on what table storage type will best suit your needs.

Verification instructions

Note: You must install cosign to verify the authenticity of the SingleStore file.

Use the following steps to verify the authenticity of singlestoredb-server, singlestoredb-toolbox, singlestoredb-studio, and singlestore-client SingleStore files that have been downloaded.

You may perform the following steps on any computer that can run cosign, such as the main deployment host of the cluster.

(Optional) Run the following command to view the associated signature files.

Download the signature file from the SingleStore release server.
- Option 1: Click the Download Signature button next to the SingleStore file.
- Option 2: Copy and paste the following URL into the address bar of your browser and save the signature file.
- Option 3: Run the following command to download the signature file.

After the signature file has been downloaded, run the following command to verify the authenticity of the SingleStore file.
